Is it possible to install 4 wheel drive on a car?

im debating on getting a solstice or a sky but i drive to wyoming all the time and im scared to go over south end canyon without all wheel or 4 wheel drive is there any way i can install all wheel or 4 wheel drive on one of those cars?
