Just installed the Sims 3 generations and now it is barely working?

Previously i had all the expansions up to Late Night. It ran great no problems. Now that I have installed Generations, at first it wouldn't load past the initial loading screen, but i figured that out by removing some mods. No problem. Then I made a new town to see the difference and such. Made the people and it was just running a little slow, tolerable. After finishing the family I chose a lot to move them onto and selected the check mark to begin building the house, the loading icon showed up and disappeared almost immediately and froze on the town screen. Tried loading another family the house loaded. But the people icons on the side were not there. I cant seem to figure this out. I have tried completely removing my mods and to no avail. Errrrggggghhhh. Please Help.
