Is their such thing as DJ work experience, and in Australia how old do you have to be?

Hi! :) I live in the Canberra/Queanbeyan area of Australia, and for Careers session for high school we've been asked to give preferences for work experiences eg. hairdressing, construction and mechanics, for the most popular. I was wondering if their is such thing as DJ work experience?? and in Australia how old do you have to be (I'm 14 and a half) and do you need to have your own equipment?? (aka vinyls, mixers) how would I start? Do I look for DJ businesses and ask for work experience?? P.S. Just wondering how did the best start?? (Armin van Buuren, Skrillex and Deadmau5) and at what age?? I know these are a long few questions but your help would be greatly appreciated, Cheers!! :D
