What is the closest beach to the grand canyon?

There are sandy beaches along the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon that can be accessed via rafting primarily. On either end of the canyon are lakes, Lake Powell to the east and Lake Mead to the west. Each has sandy beaches but you still need a boat of some kind to access most of them.
